Voting Awareness programs under SVEEP held at different places in Kupwara district.

Kupwara : To encourage citizen’s especially first time voters to exercise their right to vote, District administration Kupwara today organized voter awareness programmes under the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) initiative at different places in Kupwara district.

The awareness programs were aimed to raise awareness about various voting-related activities and promote electoral literacy among citizens, especially first-time voters to achieve the target of 80 percent voter turnout for Kupwara district during the Lok sabha Elections.

A mega Voters Awareness program under the (SVEEP) initiative was organized at Government Higher Secondary School Handwara which was presided over by ADC Handwara/ ARO, 05- Handwara, Aziz Ahmad Rather.

District Nodal Officer, SVEEP/ CEO Kupwara, Ab Majeed Dar, Tehsildar Handwara, Zeehsan Ahmad Khan, ZEO Handwara, Cluster Heads, District Cultural Cordinator, Teachers and students from different schools, besides, officials from various departments, first time voters, community leaders and local artists, besides general public also participated in the awareness program.

ADC Handwara, on the occasion, emphasized on the need for people to use their right to vote, underlining that voting determines a country’s future and safeguarding the democratic system.He urged everyone to exercise their right to vote in the upcoming elections.

On the occasion, the students and the local artists presented election related performances to educate and inspire the voters to use their right to vote responsibly.
Voter’s Pledge was also organized where participants pledged to vote enthusiastically in the upcoming Lok Sabha elections.
Motivational skits on voting were presented by students who highlighted the importance of voting. Quiz competitions and Interactive sessions designed to educate and aware the target groups inspired the young voters to actively participate in the democratic process. As a token of appreciation, achiever students were also felicitated with appreciation certifications.

ADC along with other Officers also Participated in the plantation drive, where saplings of Deodar were planted in the premises of higher secondary school.

Meanwhile, the Voter Awareness program was held under SVEEP at Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Panzgam.
Voter awareness events were also organized by ICDS Project Wavoora at Warnow-C and Kuligam to raise awareness and educate the women voters of the area. Events were presided over by Nisara Akhtar, CDPO Wavoora in which AWWs, Helpers, first time female voters and women of the area participated.
