DC Kupwara holds introductory meeting with PRIs

Says PRIs have a vital role in development of district

District Administration Kupwara today organized two separate introductory meetings of DDC Members and BDC Chairpersons with Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray who has recently joined the District.

In the first introductory meeting with DDC Members, DDC Chairman, Irfan Sultan Panditpori; Vice Chairman DDC, Haji Farooq Ahmad Mir; Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Doifode Sagar Dattatray participated, besides, DDC Member Rajwar, Suliman Mir; DDC Member Reddi Chowkibal, Habibullah Beigh; DDC Member Kralpora, Advocate Masrat; DDC Member Ramhal, Advocate Ulfat; DDC Member Qadirabad, Ms. Tahira, DDC Member Mawar, Khurshid Ahmad and DDC Member Nutnussa, Advocate Zahoor Ahmad.

The Chairman DDC welcomed the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara for taking over the charge of far flung district Kupwara. He also welcomed the Government decision for appointing a young IAS Officer as District head of the Kupwara district.

The Chairman gave brief introduction of the district and expressed hope that the administration and the Council will work together for the betterment and upliftment of the district. He also projected various issues before the Deputy Commissioner and stressed the need for gearing up the machinery to ensure completion of all ongoing developmental works.

The Vice Chairman DDC in his welcome address also expressed his gratitude towards the Government for posting of IAS officer as Deputy Commissioner and hoped that the district will touch new heights under his guidance. He also projected various developmental issues with regard to road connectivity, water supply, tourism and health sector.

The Deputy Commissioner Kupwara in his address also expressed his compliments towards the Chairman, VC and Council Members and assured full support from the administration. He said we (the Council and the Administration) are all team members and will make efforts together for the development and prosperity of the Kupwara district. He said Deputy Commissioner is always open for Members of the Council, anytime, anywhere and there is no need of any appointment or any formality. He said we all are public servants and working in different spheres of the administration.

The Deputy Commissioner said that Council Members have got mandate from the public and the administration is always available to give first priority to these elected Members adding that he has made it clear during the first introductory meeting of officers and also in public outreach programmes.

The Deputy Commissioner asked Council members to give details of three important works from their respective DDC constituencies so that they can be completed on priority basis.

He said Kupwara district has got land mark projects including Government Medical College at Handwara which will provide a revolution in the health scenario of the district.

The DDC Members also welcomed the Deputy Commissioner and gave their suggestions for the development of the district.

Later, in the afternoon Deputy Commissioner chaired a separate introductory meeting with BDC Chairpersons of the district. The BDC Chairpersons welcomed the Deputy Commissioner and also expressed their happiness for appointing an IAS Officer as Deputy Commissioner Kupwara. They also assured full support from their part and projected various issues of their respective constituencies.

The Deputy Commissioner assured them that all public representatives in the district have a vital role in building the basic infrastructure for smooth development of the district.

JD Planning, ACD, ACP, DIO, AD Planning and other concerned were present in the meeting.
