Udhampur Police recovered huge quantity of Poppy Straw, Vehicle seized

Continuing its efforts to eradicate the menace of drugs from the society. Udhampur Police under the overall supervision of Dr. Vinod Kumar-IPS, SSP Udhampur, achieved a major success by recovering 350 kg of Poppy Straw at Zero Point Chenani (NHW) under the jurisdiction of Police Station Chenani.

Police team of Police Station Chenani headed by Insp. Om Parkash under the supervision of Addl SP Udhampur Sh. Anwaar Ul Haq-JKPS, and SDPO Chenani Sh. Sheikh Tahir Amin -JKPS while conducting routine vehicle checking at Zero Morh Chenani, NHW and a truck bearing registration No. PB10GV 2981 was signalled to stop for checking purpose. The driver of the vehicle fled away from the spot after leaving behind the vehicle on road. During checking of said vehicle, Police team recovered 350 kg of poppy straw like substance from it.

Regarding this incident, A case FIR No.25/2023 under sections 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Chenani and further investigation is underway.
