Opinion | The Impact of G-20 Summit in Srinagar

G-20 platform was established in 1990 in order to ensure international cooperation to avert global economic crisis. Its aim was later expanded to include trade, climate change, sustainable development, health, agriculture, energy, environment and corruption. Thus, the role of G-20 forum is touching almost all the important global issues.

G20 will give India a chance to create its influence and be part of largest economies of the globe for inviting investment to achieve its economic goals. India has a remarkable cultural heritage which we can we show to the world by virtue of the G20 presidency. The world particularly the participating nations will practically be able to see what India stand for. Climate change and its impact is a global issue and this time during G-20 Summit the remedies to climatic change, energy transitions, demanding greater financial and technological support will be discussed.  The summit is going to offer a stage for us to engage with fellow countries for the purpose to resolve the problems and find a solution to the challenges of common nature. The decision of the G20 countries to visit Kashmir is historic. Around 200 meetings are going to be held in 50 cities of the country. Srinagar is one among the cities which is going to host the guest countries. The Union government has already invited suggestions & opinions from the citizens of the country to ensure participation of the ideas of the people from grassroots level . Not only this but G20 event in Srinagar will be helpful to eliminate the negative narratives world is experiencing regarding Kashmir.
