Handwara : Continuing its efforts against criminal offenders, Handwara Police arrested two fraudulent, recovered property fraudulently gained by them.
On April 30, 2023, FIR No. 99/2023 U/s 420 IPC had been registered at Police Station Handwara to the effect that two persons purchased some electronic items from a shopkeeper at market Handwara but have fled from the shop without made any payment.
A team led by SHO PS Handwara immediately swung into action. Based on leads developed during investigation, statements of witnesses and technical evidence, the accused persons involved in the offence were identified, traced and arrested. The accused persons have been identified as Showkat Ahmad Mir, S/O Mohd Yousuf and Noor Mohd Khan S/o Wali Mohd Khan both residents of Zaloora Sopore. Based on their disclosure, the electronic items fraudulently taken by them (01 Refrigerator, 01 Washing machine, 01 Solar Panel and 01 Inverter Battery) have been recovered.
Further investigation in the case is going on to ascertain further involvement of accused persons in other criminal cases.
