Every year on August 29, our nation celebrates Sports Day throughout the country. There are 28 states and 8 union territories in India. All the states and union territories take part in various sports activities, and all the UTs and states have a legitimate right to participate at the national and international levels. India has had a vast diversity of sports activities for centuries. The country has separate and ample funding for the sports sector. Sports activities are being promoted in the country through various channels. The media plays a vital role, and print media too plays an important role in promoting sports activities in the country.
Today, the whole world is engaging its youth in different sports activities like football. Football is one of the most famous games around the globe. This game has produced world-class players like Lionel Messi, Cristiano Ronaldo, Beckham, Neymar, Bape, etc. Our nation should participate at the international level in football, and we hope the nation will produce great and talented footballers who will train and earn fame for the motherland throughout the world.
Famous sports activities in India
Today, cricket is one of the most popular games and is liked by most Asian countries like Pakistan, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka, etc. Afghanistan is one of the countries that has emerged and produced world-class cricketers during the last 10 to 12 years; Rashid Khan is one of them. Despite not having a country’s full sport. The IPL, a cricket league played every year in the country at different venues, has now become a leading league and has produced world-class cricketers. Presently, they are playing in the playing 11 for the nation. After cricket, there are hockey, football, kabaddi, tennis, badminton, motorsports, wrestling, and basketball. India is a leader in the sports field, and every year it produces world-class players who will earn fame and charm for the country.
Upcoming sports events in the country this year
From October 5, this year’s men’s world cup 50-50 over is coming from Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad. World-class teams will participate in the mega event, India is the host country this year. Pakistan, Australia, England, New Zealand, and Bangladesh. It is very unfortunate that this time the West Indies didn’t qualify for the World Cup. Being sportsmen, we miss them, as West Indian cricketers are renowned and are world-class cricketers. England is the defending champion after winning the 2019 World Cup edition. The 14th of October is special for the cricket lover, as on this day the India vs. Pakistan match is going to be played at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad at 08:30 GMT, or 2 p.m. in India.
Importance of sports activities
Sports activities have immense importance in our lives. Sports activities keep us fit and healthy.
1.Being involved in sports activities can have a number of health benefits, like burning extra belly fat, reducing heart-related diseases, keeping away from bad cholesterol, and strengthening the bones and muscles of the body.
2.Sports activities are the best alternative to drugs. It is very interesting that after getting involved in different sports activities, the urge to use drugs gets reduced to a certain limit among youth. So it is very important for the concerned that they keep available all the basic facilities for the participants from that zonal level to the Panchayat level.
3.Sports activities may engage them.when we have nothing to do at our office, home, school, college, etc. and can indulge in whatever game suits us and gives us the pleasure of being involved in sports activities.
4.Sports activities nowadays generate employment for the coaches and trainers at the gym centres, sports clubs, etc.
5.Sports may generate employment for the experts who have been playing their games for years and can generate a livelihood for their families.
Suggestions
On sports, the concerned parties should hold mega sports events at village level, zonal level, and district level. Should provide the participants with refreshments and kit bags so that they will feel appreciated and will take part in the sports activities with great fervour. The sports sector needs improvements in infrastructure, like constructing indoor stadiums in every district so the players will get engaged during the winter.
