Opinion | Uri-The Shining Crown Of Kashmir

The Kashmir, Land of Sufis and Saints, in Old Times Kashmir Was Divided into Two Parts Kamraz and Maraz. Kamraz represents the Southern Part, and Maraz represents the Northern part of the Valley of Kashmir respectively.
As We All Know that the Story goes, Two Ruling Siblings, Kamran Dev and Marhan Dev, had divided the Kingdom of Kashmir between themselves.King Kamran Dev Ruled North Kashmir Which became to be Known after his Name as Karmraz Part of Kashmir and Similarly King Marhan Dev Ruled South Kashmir which got its Name After his Name as Maraz Part of Kashmir .
During Dogra Rule (1846-1947), the Whole Kashmir was divided into only Two Districts of Baramulla and Anantnag, Srinagar being Part of it. In Kamraz that is the North Kashmir, There is a Beautiful and Renowned Town Known for huge and Famous Varieties of Pear and Walnut,The Place has also the Legacy and history of having Produced Great Intellectuals from Time to Time.Presently there are Some JKAS Serving Officers From Uri in Jammu and Kashmir UT Administration,Police Officers and Bank Officers.
There are So many Doctors,Lecturers,Professors,Engineers and Other Professionals Presently Serving Society belongs to Uri.
Uri (Urdu Pronunciation: [Uː.Riː) is a Town and a Tehsil in the Baramulla District, in Union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir.Uri is Located on the Left Bank of the Jhelum River, about 10 Kilometres East of the Line of Control With Pakistan.
Population of Uri (Census 2011) Total Population 9,366.
Languages Kashmiri, Urdu, Goojari, Pahari,Hindi and Punjabi.
Uri is Located at the Entrance to the Kashmir Valley from the West, lying on the Jhelum Valley Road.Prior to the Partition of Kashmir, the Road Linked Uri to Rawalpindi and Srinagar. Another important road Linked Uri to Poonch Via the Haji Pir Pass.
Uri is at a Distance of about 122 Kilometres from Srinagar, about 68 Kilometres From Pakistan Occupied Muzaffarabad and about 79 Kilometres From Poonch.
Hari Singh Nalwa (1820–1823), the Sikh Commander-Administrator of Maharaja Ranjit Singh, built the fort of Uri. Uri has an average Literacy Rate of 88.46%, Male Literacy is 95.27%, and Female Literacy is 70.02% (Source Census 2011).The Place is Known for its Intellect, Religion, Cultural Harmony, Brotherhood and Civilization.
There are So many Schools in the Town and the famous are Govt. Boys Higher Secondary School Uri,Govt. Girls Higher Secondary School Uri,Army Goodwill School Uri,MM Memorial School and other Private Schools.A College was also Established there in the Year 2005.
The Population of this Town are belongs to Majority of Muslims,followed by Sikhs and Hindus.Uri Town Was Centre of Business before Partition.
Most of the Inhabitants of Uri Town are associated With Walnut and other Businesses.However, besides Serving the Business Sector, People of this Town also Love to Keep themselves busy With Agricultural and Horticultural Activities.Uri is the Largest Producer of Walnut in Kashmir.People From other Districts Came here for Selling their Walnuts.
Needless to mention that a Population of this Town belongs to different  Dynasties Like Khan,Mir,Banday,Awan,Khawaja, Qureshi,Ganie,Lone,Wani,Mirchal,Kakroo,Budoo,Raina,Chachi,Sood and other Castes,Some People Settled in Uri Town Migrated from other Nearby Villages there.
It is Pertinent to mention here that in Uri Baji Sahib Father of Mohammad Shafi Uri (Ex-Minister) was Very Famous Perrsonality Religious Person and Follower of Sufism.
The Road From Uri Town to Two Famous Sufi Ziyarats are Baba Qazinag about 20 Kilometres From Uri Towards Salamabad right Side of River Jehlum.Baba Fareed Via Lagama Garkote Road Very Famous Place.Nambla (My Native Village) Chamb (Waterfall).Olive Garden of Jammu and Kashmir Horticulture Department Located at Salamabad.Kaman Aman Setu an Attracted Tourist Place.
Presently the Uri Town is An Example of Intellect,Culture and Liteerature.So Many Famous Pahari and Gojri Poet and Singers Lived here.Uri becomes more famous also in Bollywood When a Film has been Released Titled With “Uri-The Sugical Strike”.There are Some Reputed Restaurants and Hotels there in Uri.Apart From this there is also a Huge Market in Uri Where Everything is Available to Customers.
Besides above There are Two Famous Power Projects HEP Uri-I Located at Boniyar having Capacity of 480 M.W.and HEP Uri-II having Capacity of 240 M.W. Located at Salamabad.
Uri is also a Sub-Division.There is also the Office of the Sub-Divisional Magistrate Uri.Besides that, almost All the Sub-Offices Of The Government Of Jammu and Kashmir U.T. are there.Like Sub-Divisional Police Officer, Tehsildar Uri Office and Judicial Magistrate Uri are also there.There is also the Office of The Board Of School Education to deal with matters of Students there.There is also a Sub-District Hospital in Uri Which Caters a huge Patient Rush there.Looking at the Previous History of Uri,Geographical Location,the Current State of Development and Facilities there,We Can Say that Uri is Truly the Shining Crown Of Kashmir.
