As a proud resident of the beautiful region of Kashmir, I find myself reflecting on the significance of National Voter Day, a day that transcends political boundaries and resonates with the essence of democracy. For me, this day is more than just a mark on the calendar; it is a celebration of our collective voice and a reminder of the power we hold as citizens.

Our casting vote was illogically linked with our religion, and we were erroneously taught that casting a vote is prohibited in Islam, which is not correct. However, the notion has changed over the past few years, and today we are free to choose anyone we want to, and we celebrate this auspicious National Voter’s Day.
As I have attained the age of eligibility for vote, I will not just be casting a vote; I will be shaping the narrative of Kashmir’s future. It is a responsibility I embrace with pride, knowing that my voice, alongside those of my fellow Kashmiris, contributes to the symphony of democracy that echoes across our nation.
