Opinion | Education and Sports Unite People at Global Levels.

The Indian Army has played a tremendous role in reviving, promoting, and exploring not only education and sports but also Kashmiri culture in their respective camps, besides providing safety, security, and a peaceful environment. Unity among commoners in maintaining and building a more secure environment for youth to engage in education, sports, and all other spheres is the need of the hour.

In the Kashmir valley, over the last thirty years of turmoil, the Indian army has spearheaded various projects, initiatives, and schemes aimed at the revival and promotion of sports and education. Through initiatives like the Goodwill schools and by fostering enthusiasm among Kashmiri students for sports, they have not only revitalized and promoted sports and education but have also paved the way towards peace and prosperity in Kashmir.
Education, considered the cornerstone for the welfare, development, and progress of the state, was severely impacted during the violence in Kashmir. Many schools were burnt, and students were drawn into violence and influenced by extremism. This not only resulted in educational setbacks but also tragically cost human lives. Additionally, the lack of sports activities due to violence left the youth frustrated. Tracking the youth to the right platform became a significant challenge. However, the army took all necessary efforts to pave a way forward for the dejected youth of Kashmir.
The army’s role during crises was a gift for the Kashmiri people. Now, society must unite and carry forward these initiatives. It is imperative to identify the enemies and individuals disturbing peace in Kashmir, particularly those inciting youth to indulge in violence. Society must unite to save its youth from these destructive activities and understand that the youth have a crucial role to play in building our state towards peace, progress, and prosperity.

Education and sports, which are correlated to each other, are the pillars for development in society. All-round development is possible only when we promote, explore, and channelize education and sports. The main aim of these endeavours is to make society crime-free and to nurture all youth into responsible individuals. To achieve this objective, our society needs to identify and implement a roadmap for the young generation, especially for teenagers.
