The Kashmir Writers’ Association organized a one-day workshop on Youth Counseling: How to Lead a Happy Life on 16 July 2024 at North End Hospital. The event commenced with Advocate Mehwish addressing the guests and volunteers of the Kashmir Writers’ Association.
The first guest speaker, Dr. Suhail, a renowned clinical psychologist, discussed the psychological foundations of happiness. His presentation included a three-minute video emphasizing the importance of setting priorities. He elaborated on self-awareness, pursuing dreams, and the significance of mental health and well-being. Dr. Suhail concluded by stressing the importance of community service and kindness, which enhance personal fulfillment and societal happiness.
Ms. Sumeera Haya, a prominent development sector professional with expertise in gender equality, menstrual health, mental well-being, child rights, and youth issues, was the next speaker. She encouraged the youth to participate in events and webinars addressing youth-centric issues and emphasized the importance of physical wellness. She also guided the attendees on participating in monthly fellowships and weekly seminars.
Mr. Danish Hilal Zargar, an engineer and passionate writer, shared his unique perspective on managing multiple careers and overcoming related challenges. His talk focused on resilience, the significance of patience, and the necessity of restarting after failures. He also addressed societal pressures and strategies for youth to cope with them.
The final speaker, Ms. Sakeena Wani, the youngest hospital administrator in Kashmir Valley and an avid cinematographer, shared her personal journey of balancing a career and passion. She motivated young women to pursue their dreams and emphasized the need for personal change, which benefits both individuals and society.
The event concluded with a felicitation ceremony, where Bariq Hilal Zargar, Sopore deputy team head of the Kashmir Writers’ Association, honored the guest speakers and the team of North End Hospital.
