Kupwara : In a deeply emotional and inspiring moment, the legacy of a martyred police officer came full circle on February 6, as his son received his official appointment order to join the same police force his father had served with dedication and courage.
The officer was martyred in a terrorist attack in Kupwara in 1996 while performing his duty to protect the nation. He left behind his young wife and an infant son, who grew up carrying the silent weight of sacrifice and loss.
For nearly three decades, the family endured the pain with dignity, keeping alive the memory of the martyr within their hearts. On Thursday, their long wait was rewarded when the martyr’s son was formally inducted into the police force. The appointment order was handed over by the Hon’ble Union Home Minister of India, making the occasion even more significant.
Family members expressed immense pride and emotion, describing the moment as the continuation of a noble legacy. “This is not just an appointment; it is the fulfilment of our father’s dream and sacrifice. We believe he is watching and blessing us today,” they said.
The occasion stands as a powerful reminder that the sacrifices made by security personnel are never forgotten. It reflects the nation’s commitment to honouring its heroes and supporting their families, even decades later.
As the young officer now dons the uniform once worn by his father, he carries forward a story of courage, devotion, and honour. His journey symbolises resilience, justice, and the enduring spirit of service to the nation.
