Kupwara : In a swift and commendable operation, army personnel restored the washed-out approach road of a cement bridge on the main route connecting Muhri village to Kotli village in kalaroose within an impressive span of just eight hours, bringing immense relief to the local population.
The approach road had been severely damaged following a spell of heavy and incessant rains on 18 and 19 April 2026 over the past few days, cutting off Kotli village from essential services and disrupting daily life. The sudden damage to this crucial stretch not only hindered movement but also raised concerns regarding access to medical aid, supplies, and emergency services for residents.
Responding promptly to the situation, army engineers and personnel were mobilized early in the morning. Battling challenging terrain and adverse weather conditions, the team worked tirelessly using available resources and equipment to reconstruct and stabilize the damaged section of the road. Their coordinated effort ensured that the route was made motorable in record time, restoring connectivity by the wednesday afternoon.
Local residents expressed deep gratitude for the army’s timely intervention. “We were worried about how long it would take to reconnect the road. The army’s quick response has been a lifeline for us,” said a villager from Kotli kalaroose.
Officials highlighted that such rapid response operations underscore the army’s commitment not only to national security but also to humanitarian assistance and support to civil administration during crises. The restoration of the road has resumed normal movement of people and goods, significantly easing the hardships faced by the villagers.
The operation stands as yet another example of the army’s dedication and efficiency in responding to emergencies, reaffirming its role as a dependable force in times of need.
