Awareness programme on NALSA, LSUC held at Budgam

BUDGAM : In order to educate children about their rights and responsibilities, promoting legal literacy and empowering them for their rights, Legal Services Unit for Children (LSUC) Budgam today organized a legal awareness program for children at PALAASH Child Care Institution (Boys), Budina Budgam.
The event was held under the supervision of O.P. Bhagat, Chairman, District Legal Services Authority, Budgam and under the guidance of Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary DLSA Budgam and Ubaid-ul- Khazir, District Social Welfare Officer Budgam.
In her presidential address, Secretary DLSA Budgam highlighted that this program provided a vital platform for children to learn about their rights, access to justice, and the role of legal services in protecting their interests.
She emphasized that the initiative is expected to have a positive impact on the lives of these children, enabling them to assert their rights and make informed decisions about their future.
Chief LADC, Budgam, Latief Ahmad Khan emphasized the pivotal role of the NALSA scheme 2024 in creating child friendly legal services available to children. He highlighted the need for a compassionate approach in addressing the legal needs of children, and stressed on equipping children with the knowledge of their legal and constitutional rights.
Children of Palaash enthusiastically and actively participated in the programme.
The event also saw active participation from members of the Legal Services Unit for Children (LSUC), superintendent and staff members of PALAASH Budina Budgam.
The event underscores the commitment of J&K Legal Services Authority and DLSA Budgam towards nurturing a legally aware and empowered younger generation, and their efforts align with the mission to provide accessible justice and support to vulnerable sections of society including children.
