Better Hope NGO held free medical camp in Uri Baramulla

Baramulla: A free medical camp was organised by Better Hope NGO in Choolan, Uri on 14th & 15th June aiming to benefit 3 villages in this district, Choolan, Zamoor Pattan and Kalsa. This is the 4th such camp that Better Hope has organised with an aim to provide free healthcare to the vulnerable and most deserving of rural Kashmiri population.

This particular camp was special since it targeted some of the most ignored and socially neglected tribal communities residing in far flung regions where healthcare facilities are non existent.

The facilities provided at the camp included free consultations by specialists in the field of mental health, anxiety, hypertension, cardiology, ENT, orthopaedic, gynaecology and General physician.

Paediatric patients were also treated and provided with free medicines in the camp. In addition to this there were facilities like ECG, sugar testing, oxygen level testing and special menstrual health and hygiene kits were distributed amongst women.
The two days medical camp witnessed an approximate footfall of around 1200 persons.

The beneficiaries from this camp were thankful to Better Hope NGO for supporting their village which is otherwise quite neglected, with this camp The organisers of the medical camp wish to thank the district administration Baramulla, especially SDM URI, Mr. Harjeev Singh for providing them with the relevant permissions to organise this in this area serving the tribal communities.
