Managing Director and owner Quality Healthcare Dr. Abdul Majid Wani MD, MRCP Thursday said that he is committed to provide best heath care service to people.
Dr. Majid who worked as a consultant at Medical College Srinagar for three years says that he was pained by the sufferings and deaths of patients referred from far-flung area to tertiary care hospital. There was no triage and no MICU at SMHS hospital and aim of referral of sick patients was useless. DR Wani put lot of effort to establish triage and medical ICU and hence many lives were saved by early resuscitation. But the distress agony of referral patients was haunting me especially who came from far away areas of Kashmir.
“I used to feel disappointed when I saw patients from far off areas coming to Srinagar, I wish there were better facilities available for them,” he said.
“I have worked as a consultant in Saudi Arabia for about ten years. I got offers from different parts of the world especially UK and Canada but I felt it as moral responsibility to pay back to my people. In 2008 I got an idea that I can do something to help our poor people in Kashmir. So I started my own heath care institute Quality Healthcare Hospital’ in most far-flung district of union Territory of Jammu and Kashmir and country” says Majid whose scientific research is published in reputed international journals of the world. About 60 research publications with more than 120 citations.
“Here we have provided all the facilities Including surgeries, digital x-ray and high tech lab that are available in other city hospitals. Hemodylisis facility is also available here,” he added.
Dr Majeed also said that the golden card holders are provided facilities as per proper STG guidelines NHA and SHA rules and regulations without any hidden charges from the start of admission to 2weeks after discharge related to surgery. “We consider ourselves lucky to provide such facilities to our people here,” he added.
He also said that the centrally sponsored schemes are playing major role in providing health services to people, particularly to the low income people. I got offers from different parts of world especially UK and Canada but I felt it as moral responsibility to pay back to my people. he added.
He added that the surgeries which cost around 2 lakhs in outside hospital 35 to 50 thousand in Srinagar are performed here only at cost of 18 to 20 thousand. We have modular operation theatre and state of art infrastructure. “Apart from doing good work, we also provide employment to about 55 medical and paramedical staff here,” he said.
We are looking to expand our service and two more modular operation theatres are being prepared to assist more and more people, we believe in sincerity, honesty and quality health care services he told KNS.
