The blood donation drive was organized as part of the battalion’s ongoing social service and community welfare programmes. The event was held in close collaboration with the Government Medical College (GMC) Handwara, Kupwara, which provided technical support and medical expertise.

A total of 56 CRPF personnel came forward to voluntarily donate blood during the campaign, reflecting the spirit of solidarity and humanitarian commitment that defines the CRPF. The camp was inaugurated by senior officers of the battalion, including Shri Kumar Anshu Mali, Second-in-Command, who led from the front by donating blood. He was joined by Dr. Venkata Kiran S. (Chief Medical Officer), Shri Surinder Pal (Deputy Commandant), Shri Chandan Kumar Rai (Assistant Commandant), and Dr. Aarif Hussain Ganaie (GDMO), who also contributed by donating blood.

Speaking on the occasion, the officers highlighted the critical importance of voluntary blood donation in saving precious lives, particularly in emergency and trauma care. They stressed that donating blood is a noble act that not only strengthens healthcare systems but also builds a bridge of trust between the security forces and the civilian population.

Medical experts from GMC Handwara appreciated the efforts of CRPF 162 Bn for hosting such a drive, noting that voluntary blood donations play a crucial role in addressing shortages in hospitals and ensuring timely availability for patients in need.

Local observers and participants hailed the initiative, describing it as a reflection of the CRPF’s commitment not just to maintaining security but also to contributing meaningfully towards the welfare of society.

The event concluded with a pledge from the participants to continue supporting such humanitarian causes and to inspire others in the community to adopt the life-saving practice of voluntary blood donation.
