Cyber Police Station Kupwara Reports Strong Action Against Cybercrime in 2025

Kupwara : Cyber Police Station Kupwara reports significant cybercrime handling during 2025, reflecting increased public awareness and effective inter-agency coordination. A total of 692 online cyber complaints were received, including 596 financial fraud cases and 96 social media/other cyber complaints. The total financial involvement was ₹1,58,59,030, out of which ₹70,09,337.55 has been secured or recovered for victims through timely action with banks and courts.
Additionally, 44 lost/stolen mobile phones worth approximately ₹6.6 lakh were traced and returned to the lawful owners.
Kupwara police advise citizens to report cyber fraud immediately through 1930 or www.cybercrime.gov.in and remain vigilant against digital scams.
