SHOPIAN : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Faz Lul Haseeb today handed-over Abhinandan Patras among Pani Samitis of four villages of the district under Jal Jeevan Mission, marking a significant achievement of universal coverage of households with FHTCs.

The villages where the piped water with full functional tap water connections was provided and felicitated today include Chitragam, Qugnoo, Gatipora and Mujpathri villages.

645 Households, including 144 households of Chitragam, 106 households of Qungnoo and 395 households of Gatipora and Mujpathri got benefitted by Jal Jeevan Mission scheme recently and are provided quality and adequate drinking water facility as per the norms of JJM.

Speaking on the occasion, DC congratulated the villages, represented by Pani Samitis Members, and Jal Shakti Department, JJM officials and other stakeholders for the commendable feat.

The DC on the occasion, stressed upon the executing agency of JJM projects for gearing up JJM works and IEC activities. He directed for immediate commissioning of 13 water supply schemes which are in the final stage.

It was also intimated that the work of water supply schemes are speedily going on and shall be commissioned within timelines.
