DDC Kupwara reviews progress under R&B, RDD sectors

Directs officers to ensure completion of works by ending December

KUPWARA : The District Development Commissioner (DDC) Kupwara, Ayushi Sudan today convened a series of meetings of concerned officers to review the performance of Roads & Buildings (R&B) department and Rural Development Department (RDD).

While taking meeting of the R&B department,  DDC stressed upon the concerned officers to speed up the pace of execution of works and ensure completion of all ongoing works by the end of this month. She exhorted them to improve the expenditure and asked them to submit the progress on a weekly basis to her office.

It was informed that expenditure of Rs.181 lakh has been incurred under various sectors by November 2023. Besides, 302 works have also been allotted for the execution.

Under ADF Grants, it was informed that 263 works were allotted in all 6 R&B Divisions of the Kupwara district out of which 100 works stands completed and expenditure to the tune of Rs.194.53 lakh have been incurred so far.

The DDC also took a detailed review of R&B works going on in different departments including Health and Education.

The DDC also reviewed the progress of major infrastructure projects of GMC Handwara, GDC Vilgam, Handwara Bungus road, Transit Accommodations at Kulangam and Nutnussa.

The meeting was attended by ADDC Kupwara, SE R&B, JD Planning, CEO, CMO, DIO, CEO LBDDA, Executive Engineers of all Divisions and other concerned officers.

In a separate meeting, the DDC reviewed the progress made under various schemes of the Rural Development Department during which she impressed upon the officers to ensure completion of all ongoing works by the end of the current month.

ACD Kupwara, Mudassir Ahmad gave a detailed PowerPoint presentation and briefed the DDC about the progress achieved by the RDD under various schemes including ADF, SSY, ABDP, APDS, MGNREGA, PMAY (G) and SBM-G.

The DDC directed the officers to start execution of all pending works within 4 days positively. She asked them to submit the list of works having LoI, Land or any other issue to her office so that these can be cleared at an earliest.

Regarding PMAY (G), the DDC directed the BDOs to process Geo-tagged photographs for release of the 2nd installment to the beneficiaries. They were also asked to speed up FTO generation of the PMAY (G) beneficiaries.

The meeting was attended by ACD Kupwara, XEN REW, BDOs and engineering staff of RDD.
