Kupwara : As part of the ongoing celebrations for Azadi ka Amrit Mahotsav and the Police in Amrit Kal initiative, a group of 30 school and college students from District Kupwara embarked on a one-day educational and awareness trip to the frontier area of the district.
The initiative aimed to familiarize students with the strategic importance of border regions and the functioning of border guarding forces.
The journey commenced with the flagging off of a dedicated bus from District Police Lines (DPL) Kupwara to Karnah. The students, eager to gain insights into the work of border guarding forces, visited the Border Police Station Karnah and the Border Police Post Teetwal.
During their visit to the Police Station Karnah, the students had an interactive session with SHO Karnah, who provided them with valuable information about the history, demography, and strategic significance of the Karnah border area.
This engagement aimed to broaden the students’ understanding of the challenges and importance of safeguarding border regions.
The itinerary also included a visit to the Border Police Post Teetwal, where students witnessed firsthand the operations and efforts of the border guarding forces. Additionally, the students explored the Sharda Temple, a cultural and historical landmark, and had the privilege of viewing the recently installed 104ft Tricolour, Azmat E Hind, symbolizing patriotism and national pride.
This initiative not only enriches the educational experience of the students but also strengthens the bond between the community, educational institutions, and the dedicated personnel safeguarding our borders.
