Expressing his heartfelt condolences to Ab Rahim of Chandigam, Lolab, who tragically lost his young son to a lightning strike during the storm, Dr. Aijaz described the incident as an irreparable loss for the family and the entire community. He also expressed serious concern for the individual who sustained severe injuries in the same lightning incident, praying for their swift recovery.

“The entire Lolab valley is mourning today. We have not only lost a precious young life, but our local economy has also been completely shattered,” Dr. Aijaz said in a statement. “Yesterday’s devastating hailstorm has caused extensive damage to the backbone of our economy decimating paddy fields, apple orchards, walnut trees, and standing crops. Our farmers are staring at utter financial ruin.”

Dr. Aijaz requested Honorable MLA Lolab to take immediate cognizance of the widespread devastation. He strongly appealed to the MLA to intervene and coordinate an on-spot assessment visit by the concerned Minister and senior administrative officials to evaluate the ground reality.

Demanding immediate action from the Jammu & Kashmir administration, the youth leader pressed for:

Immediate Ex-Gratia Relief, Prompt and substantial government compensation for the grieving family of Ab Rahim.

Medical & Financial Support, Full financial assistance and specialized medical care for the individual injured by lightning.
