Drug Peddler Apprehended with Narcotics in Kupwara; FIR Registered

Kupwara : Continuing its drive against the drug menace, Police Post Bazar Kupwara established a routine naka (checkpoint) at Zangli near the bridge. During checking, the naka party apprehended an individual who was found in possession of narcotics.

The accused has been identified as Firdous Rehman Mir, son of Ab Rehman Mir, a resident of Izgund Khumriyal. Upon search, a substantial quantity of a charas-like substance was recovered from his possession. Preliminary enquiry revealed that the accused was involved in illicit drug trafficking.

In this regard, an FIR No. 104/2026 under Sections 8/20 of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kupwara. Further investigation is underway.
