Editor-in-Chief of Global Kashmir Newspaper Honoured for Outstanding Election Coverage in Kupwara

Kupwara : The District Administration Kupwara on Thursday honoured Suhail Yousuf Shah, Editor-in-Chief of Global Kashmir Newspaper, with an Appreciation Award on the occasion of the 16th National Voter’s Day, in recognition of his exemplary role in election-related journalism.

The award was conferred for Global Kashmir’s significant contribution to the Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation (SVEEP) programme 2024, aimed at enhancing voter awareness and participation, particularly in remote and rural areas of the district.

During the 2024 election cycles, Global Kashmir played a proactive role in promoting democratic values by highlighting the importance of voting, supporting SVEEP initiatives, and ensuring responsible, transparent, and balanced coverage of the electoral process. The newspaper’s reporting was widely appreciated for keeping the public informed and encouraging greater civic engagement.

The District Administration described the efforts of the Editor-in-Chief and his team as a meaningful contribution towards strengthening democratic participation in Kupwara.
