Teachers are among the persons who throughout the course of our entire lives hold a special place in our hearts. They are a gift from God to us and are the foundation of a strong nation. Teachers are the ones who assist us to raise our level of living and educate us that ‘the written word is mightier than the sword’. A true and real teacher is a lovely combination of a tutor, a philosopher, a torch-bearer, a friend, and most importantly a substitute parent (read spiritual parent) for his/her students. Compassionate behaviour and an open mind are the qualities that elevate a teacher from the ordinary to the ideal stage. His/her upbeat demeanor makes it simple for the students to talk to him/her. A teacher has the power to influence a nation. According to the demands of his/her audience the teacher removes the umbra of ignorance through a great deal of work in his/her act as every student possesses something worthwhile – every pupil has a hidden treasure that a competent teacher has the potential to unlock. Indeed, a teacher’s lifestyle is quite unadorned, and he lacks both pride and zeal. Most significantly, a teacher gives character development priority over academic development and does not just concentrate on it. They understand what the pupils are going through and assist them deal with the challenges. When kids are distant from home, they feel at home because of their professors, who act as our second parents. Our teachers progressively become our friends and in some cases, our role models over time. They never stop motivating us and pushing us over our comfort zones so we can achieve our goals. The teachers in the essence of the word reject the label of “simply a teacher.” Instead, they change as required to suit the circumstances. All of us must respect, revere, acknowledge and appreciate the holy endeavours of our beloved teachers.
