Green Pencil Foundation, Mumbai in association with Gully Classes Foundation, Mumbai organised ” Beach Cleanup” at Juhu Koliwada Beach, Juhu with an aim to befriend ecosystem while believing ” Cleanliness is indeed next to Godliness ” the volunteers of GPF, GCF & NSS volunteers in Mumbai were part of this drive to make our planet a better place to live.
The drive began with marking the garbage dump areas on the beach. By the time volunteers were getting ready with gloves for the cleanup. They initiated cleanup litter from the beach including debris of idols, plastic trash like bags disposed bottles etc. Later, they have collected all the trash in the containers and kept it at the BMC garbage point. So that BMC people can easily collect it.
This was just the start for many expeditions to help save the planet earth. This, the cleanup transformed into a mindful and humbling experience as the volunteers reflected on their lifestyle and how it had impacted their ecosystem.
The main initiative was taken by GPF Mumbai City Head, Ms. Rakshita Manglani. It was strongly supported by the jack of of all trades and master of all Mr. Sandy Khanda, Founder GPF and Mr. Abdul Munaf, Founder GCF played a vital role in making this drive successful by creating a massive awareness in the society.
