Handwara Police Organizes ‘Swachh Bharat – Clean India Green India’ Drive at Vilgam

Handwara : In line with the vision of Swachh Bharat Abhiyan and its commitment to community welfare, Handwara Police today launched a large-scale cleanliness drive titled “Clean India Green India” at Vilgam. The initiative focused on public hygiene, environmental protection, and encouraging community participation in cleanliness efforts.

The drive began from Police Station Vilgam and concluded at Main Chowk Vilgam, covering prominent public spaces and key routes along the way. Police and CRPF personnel, alongside members of civil society, actively took part by cleaning streets, collecting litter, and spreading awareness about adopting eco-friendly practices.

Addressing the participants, Handwara Police officers underlined that cleanliness is not a one-time activity but a sustained mission that requires collective responsibility. They stressed the importance of waste management, environmental conservation, and continuous community cooperation for healthier and sustainable living.

The local community lauded the initiative and expressed gratitude to Handwara Police for leading the campaign, acknowledging their role not only in maintaining law and order but also in advancing social and environmental causes.
