Budgam : Budgam Police seized 36 Cft illicit timber(16 logs) and arrested 07 accused persons involved in the commission of crime, vehicle also seized.

Police Station Beerwah received an information that some timber smugglers are transporting illicit timber in a vehicle bearing registration number JK04H-2155 accordingly a checkpoint was established at Bonhama crossing, at about 05:10 hrs, police party intercepted the said vehicle and was signalled to stop.During search of vehicle 16 logs of illicit timber (deodar) were recovered and 7 persons on board including driver were arrested on spot and vehicle used for commission of crime has been seized.

Case FIR number 18/2023 under relevant sections of law has been registered at Police Station Beerwah & investigation taken up.
