JAMMU: Despite the intervention by LG administration and assurance by the National Testing Agency, a number of J&K students appearing in the scheduled Common University Entrance Test-Undergraduate (CUET-UG), have still been allotted centres outside the Union Territory.

A number of aspirants complained that they have been allotted CUET-UG centre in Amritsar, Jalandhar and other areas outside J&K notwithstanding the announcement to accommodate all J&K students within the UT.

It may be recalled that the NTA had earlier deferred the schedule CUET-UG for the J&K students to May 26 onwards to ensure that the candidates do not have to appear in the examination centres outside the Union Territory.

Even as the J&K candidates, following commencement of the CUET from June 26, were being accommodated in the centres within the UT, the fresh list of roll numbers has mentioned exam centres of various candidates outside J&K.

From Jammu and Kashmir, 87309 candidates have registered themselves for the CUET-UG and a number of them have been allotted centres outside J&K UT without their consent for the same thus putting them at great inconvenience.(Agencies)
