Kupwara : The Jammu and Kashmir Teachers Forum (JKTF), Kupwara, has expressed its satisfaction with the recent release of the promotion list for teachers to the position of Masters.
This announcement marks an encouraging step forward for teachers in the valley providing much-needed recognition for their dedication and service, JKTF said adding, It comes at a crucial time when many schools in the valley have been grappling with vacancies for Masters, which has added pressure on the teaching staff.
However, while JKTF Kupwara acknowledges the positive impact of the promotion list, the forum has voiced its concern over the omission of certain qualified teachers. Many educators who have diligently upgraded their qualifications during their service, in accordance with a previous one-time relaxation order issued by the administration, have not been included in the list.
The exclusion of these teachers has led to feelings of neglect among those who worked hard to meet the necessary qualification criteria.
In light of this, JKTF Kupwara has respectfully appealed to the administration to address the issue by ensuring that all eligible teachers, particularly those who enhanced their qualifications while in service, are considered for promotion. The forum emphasizes the importance of fair and inclusive practices in the promotion process, which would help maintain the morale of the teaching staff and encourage further professional development.
Additionally, JKTF Kupwara has called for the immediate transition of Regularized Rehbar-e-Taleem (RRET) teachers to Teacher Grade II status. This long-awaited transition is crucial for ensuring that these dedicated educators receive the same opportunities for career advancement as their peers. The forum believes that expediting this process will not only ensure fairness for RRET teachers but also contribute to the overall enhancement of the education system in the region.
Under the leadership of Sahil Bashir, JKTF Kupwara remains optimistic that the administration, particularly the UT leadership including Ganesh Khajuria, Mohd Shafi Rather, Muneer Ahmad Khan, and Provincial President Mohd Akbar Dar, will take swift action to address these concerns. The forum is hopeful that their timely intervention will result in a positive outcome for all affected teachers and will help strengthen the education system in Jammu and Kashmir.
JKTF Kupwara believes that addressing the issues of omitted teachers and pending transitions will significantly improve teacher morale, ensuring that educators are better supported in their professional journey. This, in turn, will have a lasting, positive impact on the quality of education in the valley.
