“It has come to the notice that on behalf of the general Public, Brokers/Agents approach the offices in various departments of Kupwara District for getting the legitimate official work done in favour of Public and extort money from them.

The system has been exposed by the investigating agency in some offices and its roots may be excavated in initial stages so as to free the general public from such menaces and corruption free, broker/agent free system can be put in place across all Government Departments”, observed a circular, of which a copy is in possession of GNS.

“It is impressed upon all the District/Sectoral Officers to formulate a robust mechanism for the corruption free and transparent system of working”, it reads.

“If any broker or agent is found in any office pursuing such cases, he shall be straightway referred to Crime Branch, J&K and FIR shall be filed against him under relevant provisions and rules, so that a transparent, corruption free governance can be given to general Public”, the circular warned.

“Besides Government officials are exhorted to perform their duties with honesty and integrity”, the circular further enjoined. (GNS)
