The drive was led by the Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, Shrikant Suse, who highlighted the dual significance of the initiative—promoting a drug-free society while fostering ecological responsibility. He emphasized that such activities not only contribute to environmental sustainability but also engage youth and communities in constructive and meaningful endeavors.

Additional Deputy Commissioner Handwara, Javed Naseem Masoodi; SDM Lolab, Dr. Mudassir Ahmad and SDPO Lolab, Atif Zahoor were also present on the occasion.

Officers and employees from various line departments, along with ICDS and ASHA workers, actively participated in the drive. The event witnessed enthusiastic involvement from a large number of school children and local residents, reflecting strong community engagement and collective responsibility toward both environmental protection and the broader objectives of the Nasha Mukt campaign.

Meanwhile, Nasha Mukt Plege was also taken by the participants to reaffirm their resolution towards working for eradication of drug abuse and working for a brighter future of the district.

Hundreds of Chinar saplings were planted across the park premises, symbolizing resilience, heritage, and a greener future for the Lolab valley. The plantation drive also served as an awareness platform, encouraging citizens—especially the youth—to adopt healthy lifestyles and stay away from substance abuse.
