Mission Vatsalya B’pora organizes awareness programme on World Day against Child Labour

BANDIPORA : A comprehensive awareness programme aimed at highlighting the evils of child labour and advocating for child Rights was today organized by Mission Vatsalya Bandipora, in collaboration with district administration Bandipora, Labour Department Bandipora and International Delhi Public School Bandipora to mark the World Day against Child Labour.
The event commenced with all participants taking a solemn pledge against child labour, reinforcing the collective commitment to eradicate this social evil. A large number of students, teaching and non-teaching staff, civil society members, and officials from the District Child Protection Unit, Child Welfare Committee, Child Help Line and the Labour department attended the programme.
Speaking on the occasion, Assistant Labour Commissioner (ALC) Bandipora, Rabia Iqbal emphasized the significance of observing this day and the crucial role that various stakeholders, including educational institutions and government departments, must play in preventing child labour.
District Child Protection Officer Bandipora reiterated the need for community vigilance and proactive reporting of child labour cases. He stressed that collective responsibility and action are vital in combating child labour and safeguarding Child Rights.
A poignant highlight of the event was a skit performed by students of GPS Colie Mohalla Athwatoo, which depicted the harsh realities and consequences of child labour. The performance left a deep impact on the audience, underscoring the message that every child deserves to grow in a safe and nurturing environment, free from exploitation.
Several key speakers enriched the event with their insights. Protection Officer DCPU, Member CWC Bandipora, Member Juvenile Justice Board (JJB) Bandipora and Protection Officer shared their perspectives on the role of Mission Vatsalya and associated departments in ensuring the safety and well-being of children, especially those in vulnerable situations.
