Kashmir Valley is known for its natural beauty. The winsome valley is covered with lofty mountains that are covered with white snow; it looks quite ravishing during the winters. The tourists come here from different parts of the globe and add new memories to their lives forever. Almighty has bestowed Bowl Valley, Kashmir, with immense natural vegetation, waterfalls, snow mountains that are touching the sky, clear crystal rivers, and lush green forests, which enhance the beauty of the Kashmir Valley. The tourism sector boosts the economy of the union territory and provides employment to thousands of the youths throughout the year. As we know, for the last two years, the whole world has been combating the pandemic. The coronavirus has greatly impacted the economic conditions of countries throughout the globe since its outbreak in Wuhan, China. WHO (World Health Organization) and the medical sector are doing well to properly combat the pandemic and save the lives of the people, and government administration at all levels, from lower to high level, are involved in combating the present situation of the coronavirus. Presently the world is combating the 3rd wave of coronavirus that is omicron. The Omicron variant was first detected in South Africa in the month of November 2021. Since then, most of the countries of the world have suspended their aerial transport services with South Africa. Being a vigilant citizen, we should take care of our family and our neighbors. We should try to avoid coming out of homes unnecessarily and avoid standing at gathering sites to avoid spreading omicrons.
Today I am going to explore the benefits of snow. As we have heard from our school teachers how important the water cycle is, the water cycle helps to keep water resources rich in snow throughout the year. Then we will get the water for drinking, cooking, bathing, washing, etc. Snow mostly falls during the winters and retains on the mountains in the form of glaciers, then comes into our villages, cities, and towns through different channels like rivers, canals, and water pipes and resolves our water scarcity problems. It’s common in the Kashmir Valley. We suddenly got shocked and worried when we heard the weather advisory from the meteorological department about the snowfall. At the same time we forgot how it’s possible that without snowfall we can survive here on this planet without water. Snow can have a dramatic effect on our daily lives.” It’s also the focus of a multitude of outdoor sports and the inspiration for some of our most beloved recreational gear. Importance of snow and its importance in nature:- Snow has a variety of functions in the natural world that promote the processes that keep our planet in balance. Let’s take a look at the importance of snow in the ecosystem. What is snow? – Snow consists of one simple ingredient: H2O, or water. Flakes begin to take shape when the atmospheric temperature (not the ground temperature) is at or below freezing. Snowflakes develop as water droplets in the atmosphere form ice crystals and stick together as they fall down to earth. Even if the ground is warmer than the air, snow can still occur, and potentially more often in this case. Warm air close to the ground holds more water vapor, making bigger snowflakes and causing heavier snowfalls. Critical climate control and water supply
Water is critical for all species on earth. However, the importance of snow within our climate system is often not given much thought. Snow cover regulates not only the temperature of the entire globe but also smaller, regional patterns as well. The cooling effect of a strong snowpack combined with warming spring soils influences summer rains and their duration. The importance of snow to our fresh water supply cannot be denied. We depend on large amounts of snow to hold our water in reserve like a bank, releasing it slowly as it melts when it is most needed. The importance of all of this snowpack and temperature fluctuation would mean that some of our favorite winter pastimes, like skiing, snowshoeing, and snowmobiling, could shift seasons or cease to be available in some areas at all.
