SANJAY 2023: DC Bandipora inspects Amarnath Yatra Transit Camp at Shadipora; reviews arrangements

BANDIPORA : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Bandipora, Dr Owais Ahmed on Monday visited Yatra Transit Camp at Shadipora Sumbal to review the arrangements and other facilities for pilgrims ahead of the upcoming Amarnath Yatra.

The 62-day yatra is scheduled to commence on July 1 and culminate on August 31.

Dr. Owais, on the occasion, inspected the upgraded facilities for the convenience of the stay of Yatris visiting for the pilgrimage.

It was informed that all necessary arrangements, including facilities of drinking water and electricity, etc. at Yatra Transit Camp have been made in advance besides the deployment of sufficient staff at the camp.

Dr. Owais also inspected other completed works at the transit camp, including the langar facility, prefabricated huts, etc. and expressed satisfaction over the arrangements put in place. He stressed upon the concerned for ensuring cleanliness, sanitation, hygiene, and medical facilities at transit camps round-the-clock.

Dr Owais also interacted with employees of various departments on duty to ensure smooth and hassle free Yatra. He  urged the employees to ensure that the Yatris do not face any hardship during their holy journey.

The DC directed the concerned agencies for the macadamization of the inner links within the camp timely.

Nodal Officer-Coordination, Bandipora  M Ashraf Hakaak; SDM Sumbal, Joint Director, Planning, ACP, CRPF and police officers and other senior officers of the district were present on the occasion.
