Handwara : Handwara Media Association on wednesday held its Annual body election in which Syed Kabir and Tariqe Raheem got equal votes and it was decided to grant first 6 month’s presidential ship to Syed Kabir Geelani after that Tarique Raheem will be heading another six to complete one year term.
Meanwhile, Syed Imtiyaz was elected as Vice President while Adil Akber as General secretary of the association.
The association was previously headed by Atif Qayoom correspondent of Daily Rising Kashmir. On the occasion President Syed Kabir Geelani who is working with ANN News Channel, asserted that his endeavours will be to develop professionalism among journalists and to work with administrators for the greater cause of transparency and accountability, while Tariq Raheem, who is working with Daily Greater Kashmir, thanked ADC and SP Handwara for facilitating smooth election and hoped for the best in welfare of Journalists.
