According to the official notification, a large number of pre-litigation and pending court cases will be taken up for amicable settlement through this alternative dispute redressal mechanism.

The pre-litigation matters to be considered include cases under the Negotiable Instruments Act (Section 138), bank recovery issues, labour disputes, electricity and water bill matters (excluding non-compoundable cases), along with other compoundable civil and matrimonial disputes.

Similarly, the pending court cases to be taken up include criminal compoundable offences, NI Act cases, bank recovery matters, MACT cases, labour disputes, electricity and water bill cases (excluding non-compoundable), matrimonial matters, land acquisition cases, transport-related cases, and other civil disputes such as rent, easement, injunctions, and specific performance suits.

The Tehsil Legal Services Committee has urged all litigants, concerned parties, and advocates who wish to resolve their disputes through compromise to approach the Lok Adalat and avail the opportunity for speedy, cost-effective, and amicable justice.

The initiative aims to reduce the pendency of cases and strengthen access to justice at the grassroots level.
