KUPWARA : Kargil Vijay Diwas was observed with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervour at Army Goodwill School, Wayne, Kupwara to pay homage to the brave soldiers who made the supreme sacrifice during the Kargil War.
The day’s events began with a poster-making competition in which students showcased their creativity and paid tribute to the valour and sacrifices of Indian soldiers.
This was followed by inspiring speeches by students, the Principal and a local ex-serviceman who had participated in the Kargil War. The veteran shared first-hand accounts of the challenges faced by the Indian Army and how, with unmatched courage and determination, our troops recaptured the high-altitude posts from Pakistani intruders and scripted a historic victory.
Addressing the gathering, the Principal emphasized that Kargil Vijay Diwas is a symbol of India’s bravery, unity and national pride. He urged students to draw inspiration from the selfless service of our soldiers and to contribute towards nation-building.
The commemoration served as a powerful reminder to the young minds of AGS Wayne about the cost of freedom and the values of courage, patriotism, and service to the nation.
