SRINAGAR, SEPTEMBER 14: A meeting of District Level Review Committee (DLRC) was held here today under the chairmanship of District Development Commissioner (DDC) Srinagar, Mohammad Aijaz Asad to review the progress achieved during Ist quarter of financial year 2021-22 under Annual District Credit Plan.

The meeting held threadbare deliberations on bank wise progress in lending to the priority sector/non priority sector. Besides achievements made under other Government sponsored schemes including JKREGP, NRLM, Pradhan Mantri Mudra Yojana and enrollment under Social Security Schemes.

The meeting was attended by Chief Planning Officer, Mohammad Yaseen Lone, Joint Commissioner, SMC, General Manager DIC, DDM NABARD, LDM Srinagar, Deputy Director Employment and Officers from EDI, UDAK, Horticulture, Agriculture, Animal & Sheep Husbandry, Fisheries and other officers of concerned Departments. Besides, Senior Managers of JK bank, SBI, PNB, and other sponsoring agencies operating in Srinagar.

Speaking on the occasion, the DDC called for streamlining the overall process besides to ensure that cases forwarded to Banks must be processed on fast track basis so that beneficiaries are provided hassle-free and timely financial assistance under various government sponsored schemes.

The DDC stressed on enhancement in the overall credit flow of banks in the district which is essential for financial impetus and improving income levels and thereby help in raising standard of living of people. Besides he impressed upon the banks operating in the district to improve their CD Ratio.

He called upon officers to work in unison with added vigour and zeal so that tangible results to take the Srinagar district as a role model for development are achieved. He also urged them to use technology leverage for simplifying the process of loans.

He also advised the representatives of financial institutions and sponsoring agencies to come forward and help the urban poor of the capital for eradicating poverty, unemployment and reaching out to the poorest of the poor.

The DDC emphasized that all banks operating in the district should educate and sensitize the public about financial literacy particularly in the rural and semi urban belts of Srinagar about various banking products and Government sponsored schemes.

While expressing his satisfaction over the efforts of J&K Bank and Manager Lead Bank regarding achievements of targets and public outreach, the DDC urged the concerned to further improve the performance particularly in private banks.

The DDC asked the concerned officers of NABARD to undertake an exercise to ascertain the statistics regarding cases and submit the same within weeks’ time. He stressed that the purpose of government launched schemes should not be confined to providing loan facilities but its objective is to provide sustainable employment to the beneficiaries.

Earlier, the Lead District Manager, apprised the Deputy Commissioner that by end of June 2021, around Rs 1186 crore have been distributed among 38902 beneficiaries in the district by different financial institutions under priority and non-priority sectors achieving the target of 18 percent target of the financial year 2021-22.

He further informed that the total deposits of the district Srinagar stood at Rs 26847 crore and Advance at Rs 14003 crore with 52 percent CD ratio. The meeting was also informed that to facilitate on spot sanctions of sponsored cases more than 70 awareness camps were organized for Street Vendors across all SMC wards in Srinagar. Besides to ensure hassle-free loans to SHG various FLC programmes in collaboration with NRLM department by visiting rural areas of Srinagar. Moreover, to give impetus to SHG also NABARD has conducted two Bank sensitization programmes in which various banks participated. 100 percent cases have been sanctioned under the MUMKIN Scheme. Similarly, under Pradhan Mantri SVANIDHI schemes 4500 cases of Street Vendors were so far processed, while 633 cases under MPEGP scheme.
