The purpose of the meeting was to assess the security arrangements for the annual pilgrimage and ensure that it takes place without any incidents.

During the meeting, the DGP emphasized the need for extra efforts to ensure the incident-free Yatra. He directed the officials to mobilize manpower from different wings and districts and to follow all Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) strictly.

He also instructed the officers to ensure that the responsibility of each team head assigned to the Yatra is clearly defined. He further requested the officers to submit any additional requirements, assuring them that they would be given priority.

The DGP stressed the deployment of assistance teams equipped with necessary tools at base camps and other important locations to provide aid and support to the pilgrims. He emphasized the importance of strong security arrangements at base camps and the establishment of effective communication networks.

The DGP also highlighted the need for well-regulated traffic management, parking of vehicles, and the deployment of forces along both the Pahalgam and Baltal routes of the Yatra.

In terms of security measures, the DGP urged the officers to make full use of modern security gadgets and technology, including CCTV cameras and drones, to enhance security at key Yatra locations and along the route.
