Kulgam Police busted Extortion Racket and arrested 5 robbers who was impersonating as Terrorists with fake Weapons

Kulgam : Kulgam Police received multiple complaints from the residents of Katrasoo, Matibugh and Tarigam etc., that some persons entered their houses proclaiming as Terrorists ,threatened them with weapons and asked for money & other valuable items & fled away from the spot.

Taking Cognizance of the matter, a case with FIR No 92/2022 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Yaripora.

During the course of investigation, a special team led by SHO Yaripora was constituted. Searches were conducted and multiple Nakas were established to arrest the accused. Today after generating a specific information regarding the Module , a special naka at Yaripora was established and five accused namely:-
1. Nazir Mushtaq Malik
S/O Mushtaq Ahmed Malik R/O Pinjoora Shopian.
2.Khalid Hussain Deedad S/O Mushtaq deedad
R/O Sangarwani Pulwama.
3.Rizwan Ahmad Deedad S/O Mohd Azan
R/O Sangarwani Pulwama.
4. Karman Ahmad Deedad
S/O Mohd Ashraf Deedad R/O Draklarn Abhama Pulwama.
5. Abrar Ahmad Teadwa S/O Mohd Yosuf Teadwa R/O Sangerwani Pulwama were arrested and from their possession 02 Toy Guns, 01 Toy Pistol, 02 Cutters, 05 Mobile phones and 05 Masks were recovered, also vehicle used in commission of crime has been seized. Also Further investigation into the matter is in progress.

General public are requested not to fall in any such trap and to inform concerned Police Station about any such incident immediately.
