Acting on credible intelligence, officers from the Sogam Police Station executed a search at the aforementioned shop. The operation led to the arrest of one person, identified as Shakir Ahmed Ganie, S/o Abdul Rashid Ganie, R/o Lolab, while another individual, identified as Gowhar Ahmed Lone, S/o Mohammad Maqbool Lone, R/o Lolab, managed to escape from the scene. Both are suspected of operating a distribution network for illegal narcotics.

The search for the absconding accused is currently underway. The duo is believed to have been involved in luring local youth into drug abuse, making this operation a significant step in the ongoing efforts to combat the drug menace in the Lolab area.

An FIR under relevant sections has been registered at Police Station Sogam, and an investigation has been initiated to uncover the forward and backward linkages of all those involved in the drug trafficking network.
