SAKHI-One Stop Centre Bandipora, conducted a one day awareness cum orientation programme in Bandipora over “Rights of Women” in collaboration with District Legal Service Authority Bandipora.
A good number of participants from various departments of Bandipora like Department of Education,ICDS Department, Health Department, DLSA Members and other sectoral officials participated in the said event.
During the event ,the audiance were informed about legal and Islamic rights of women. Miss Mehnaza Rasool ,Case Worker OSC Bandipora greeted the guests and participants with warm welcome and highlighted the need to be aware of various women centric laws and regulations.
Psycho- Social Counsellor, Miss Afshana Hassan highlighted the “Role of Women in Islam “and Para-legal Personnel OSC Bandipora, Adv. Abdul Rashid Khan aware the Women folk about their legal rights and gave a detailed awareness about legal status of women. Miss Jameela Akhter, Case Worker OSC Bandipora put her views regarding Women Empowerment.
Ms Baseera Rafiqi ,Women Welfare Officer, Mahila Sakhti kendra (MSK) Bandipora ellobrated the Women rights and aware the participants about various women centric Schemes of the government.
Meanwhile, Centre Administrator, SAKHI Bandipora, Miss Ishrat Ayoub informed the participants about the need to break their silence. “One Stop Centre is a centrally sponsored schemes commited to safeguarding women and girls from any kind of violence,”she said.
She further said that emergency response and medical assistance are being provided free of cost to women and girls affected by any kind of violence.
The One Stop Centre also provides temporary shelter to women and girls who are victims of violence. One Stop Centre provides police assistance, legal aid and counseling to women affected from violence, she added. It is a centre with many purpose, providing various facilities under one roof, she said while inspiring the participants to come forward in case of any violence or forced issues.
Miss Ishrat also presented a warm vote of thanks to all the guests, participants and gatherings and District Administration Bandipora for it’s support and coordination.
She extended special and warm gratitude to worthy Chairman and Secretary, District Legal Services Authority, Bandipora for their kind support, coordination and collaboration for conducting such awareness programme, which would haven’t been possible without their intervention and collaboration.
