Opinion | Earthquake in Kashmir a warning from Allah ﷻ

Understand and pay heed to the warnings of Allah ﷻ otherwise be ready for the unforeseen holocaust.

Kashmir which is known as the paradise on earth. The place of saints and spiritually reached people. The dwelling place of eminent scholars and preachers like Abdul Rehman Bulbul, Ameer e Kabeer Mir Syeed Ali Hamdani r.a., Alam Dar-e-Kashmir Sheikh Noor Din-e-Wali r.a. who have given their blood and sweat in gardening this part of the world. There are others who have contributed to the intellectual and spiritual life of the community over the years. Which can never be forgotten. But unfortunately this part of the world is right now under going through the tough challenges, the youth of Kashmir destroying their lives by playing different online games, the orthodox undated customs and traditions which were being practiced by the early people are somehow still prevalent. Fanaticism and superstitions are being revived day in and day out. Money is being spend extravagantly and unnecessarily. All efforts are being used to earn money without noticing the source whether legal or illegal , people have become merciless, loyalty and sympathy have become the words of past. Domestic violence is at peak. Education has become business. When such conditions will occur then these earthquakes are not unusual. This is undoubtedly an alarm from the Exalt Lord we all must shun the ways which will bring the anger of Allah ﷻ or be ready for the unprecedented calamities. Being a Muslim it must be our belief that the way this Planet and this universe is dependent of Allah ﷻ in coming into existence similarly this universe is under the control of Allah ﷻ. We must remember that everything belongs to Allah ﷻ and everything is dependent of Allah ﷻ.Allah ﷻ is the source of creation. The universe operates according to his divine plan, meticulously crafted and overseen by him alone. Nothing can overpower his divine control.
Everything works on the will and orders of his creator. Actually Allah ﷻ sends down calamities when sins and disobedience become widespread and people increase in their wrong doings.
Last month Kashmir province witnessed a series of earthquake and the last earthquake hit Kashmir on 27th of Dec.2024.According to the National Centre for Seismology its epicentre was at Baramulla with a depth of 10 Km. From that day onwards earthquakes are occurring frequently here. I was deeply engaged with my assignments and my daughter (Soliha) who is 6 years old took my attention towards this burning issue as regularly from the last couple of days she used to say about earthquake and its preventing measures. She is highly scared of it and during the night time she makes us salient to lend our ears as earthquake may occur. She is having intense fear of earthquake.
History is witnessing that the people who disobeyed Allah ﷻ they were destroyed for lives and the people who have no modesty in them at all Allah ﷻ have uprooted them and their names and marks are not found and are forever a lesson for the humanity. When injustice prevail and no one stops the oppressor then the earth loses its resistance and throws out its burden. These earthquakes are a warning for all of us to improve. Our deeds, actions and secrets are being closely monitored and very soon will be brought forth. Our creator sends these calamities to frighten us and remind us our duties, obligations and responsibilities.
Hazrat-e-Abu-Hurairah narrates that the last Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said, “When property given in trust is treated as spoil, Zakaat is treated as a tax, learning is acquired for other than a religious purpose, a man obeys his wife and is unkind towards his mother, when friends are being brought nearer and father is driven far off, voices are raised in Masjid, when the most wicked person of a tribe becomes ruler, when a worthless member becomes leader, a man is honoured through fear of the evil he may do, singing girls and stringed instruments make their appearance , wines are drunk, and the last members of the people curse the first ones, look at that time for the violent wind, earthquake, metamorphosis pelting rain and signs following one another like beads of a necklace falling one after the other when its string is cut.

We must not forgot what happened with the people of Hazrat Lut (Alahisalam), the people of Hazrat Saalih and Harzat e Suhaib. Some of them were buried under the stones which directly fell from sky. Others were reduced to ashes. This is how Allah ﷻ dealt with the oppressors.
Disasters and calamities are a result of our increasing evil deeds and disobedience to Allah ﷻ and Allah ﷻ warns all of us through his holy book Quran that whatever calamity befalls you is because of what your hands have earned and at another chapter he says whatever good reaches you, O listeners is from Allah ﷻ and whatever ill reaches you is from yourselves. So we are actually responsible for all these happenings. If we will change ourselves the whole universe will get changed. Everything which was inflicted from the skies was good but man middles and destroyed everything. So there is a great lesson in these earthquakes for all of us to to change ourselves. Let the peace, prosperity and tranquillity prevail for that we must protect Kashmir and not to create problems for ourselves and for our future generation by indulging ourselves in various obscene activities which will bring forth the anger of Allah ﷻ.
The people of Kashmir need to go through self-introspection some people are so generous and due to their nobleness we are safe but their percentage is so minimal and a chunk of others are still reluctant to upgrade and transform themselves. Let’s all pray to Allah ﷻ for the progress and prosperity of Kashmir. Kashmir Zindabad.
