In kashmir Youth constitutes a significant size of the kashmiri population.
It is a spirited and ingenious section of our society and has a wish to scale the significant heights. Their energies require proper channeling to put the jammu and kashmir on a high trajectory of growth and development.
Careful nurturing is needed for these vital human resources. Realising this, the Government of Jammu and Kashmir has initiated measures to bring back youth into the mainstream which are somehow appreciable and are working out in kashmir valley . Vibrant, active, self-motivating, and enthusiastic are some of the characteristic traits representing youth of kashmir valley that makes them relevant to contribute to nation-building and betterment of Jammu and Kashmir through peaceful means.
The term youth does not simply represent an age group but also a period of an individual’s life and a condition.
Jammu and Kashmir has the largest youth population and roughly accounts for 66% of the people below 35 years . The population size of young people in J&K is about 2.50 million, which clearly explains the focus on youth.
The youth of J&K Is no exception, and they also want to contribute to the development of nation . But this process was hindered in J&K due to pervious governments and the conflict abetted and supported from across the border, leading to economic instability, unemployment, poverty etc.
The insurgency erupted in late 1989, and people experienced continuous protests, shutdowns, curfews, killings, etc. The youth was caught in a vicious cycle of violence and uncertainty.
Through a multi-pronged strategy involving all necessary systematic interventions.
The organisation envisions inducing demand-driven interventions for inclusive youth development, including providing livelihood generation, skill development, education, counselling & rehabilitation, and sports and recreation facilities.
To re-integrate the ‘Awaam’ of Jammu and Kashmir specially kashmir valley with the national mainstream and blunt the conflict abetted across the border .

Government of India and UT administration has launched various initiatives for youth of J&K. The Government has expedited the implementation of already existing schemes on priority and several innovative measures and interventions have been introduced. The cross-section of kashmiri youth has inspired mind to make India a great nation and create a powerful vision. And indeed, youth could lead to an incredible transformation.

Way Forward :

First, the primary role of the state is
A profesional approach , a soft touch and a long term efforts are the best solutions . Secondly the business community and students from Kashmir residing outside kashmir in other parts of country should not be treated with suspicion outside they should be treated normally like other country fellows .
The Insurgencies are struggles for political space. Kashmiris have been at the receiving end of the anti-national label for too long and describing an entire population as being vulnerable to inspired influences raises questions not just about Kashmir but about secular idea of India. These ideas are aimed for removing distrust in Delhi-Srinagar relationship and also bringing to the attention of UT functionaries the hard task of reconciliation and closeness with the Kashmir youth who have been neglected by past governments . The youth have a sense of discrimination now they need to be loved .
