India and China again clashed in the Tawan sector in December as it is repeatedly trying to fulfil its ill designs. The december tensions arose along the Line of Actual Control when the People’s Liberation Army made an unsuccessful attempt to alter the status quo unilaterally in Arunachal Pradesh. It is said that about 300 PLA men came with full energy but the our Indian Army gave them a befitting response this time . This was not expected by china this time as the reaction from India was unimaginable. Thus situation has got diffused in favour India but still we should not take it lightly because PLA is habitual of repeating such misadventures. China should remember that india is not Pakistan as India is emerging as a world power. Its economy, strong political stability and power to foreign relations are being praised worldwide including enemy country Pakistan’s former prime minister is praising India in broad day light. We have shown that India is capable of the G20 presidency. Both China and Pakistan need to do some soul reaching. Pakistan’s present position is worsening day by day. Even china and Pakistan are not now showing trust on each other.
The reputation of Pakistan has become so doubtful that even it all weather friend has started to show unwillingness to fullfil its demands .Doubts have been raised over China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) . The reports indicate that China does not trust Pakistan “completely”.
As per the report, Pakistan Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s recent visit to China has been unable to reignite the ties between the two nations. The Singapore Post report said, “revitalization of the China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) is unlikely to be on the expected lines.” The terrorist attacks on Chinese nationals have angered leaders of China which have called on Pakistan’s leadership to provide security to its citizens.
The Chinese nationals working on China-Pakistan Economic Corridor (CPEC) are provided bulletproof cars for all outdoor travel. CPEC is important for Pakistan as it has been able to generate electric power and avoid 16-hour-long daily load shedding.
Thousands of kilometres of highways have been developed and far-flung areas have been connected, as per the report. Pakistan was expected to build nine Special Economic Zones. However, it did not happen and the Chinese industries started shifting to nations, where they could build and function seamlessly.
Aizaz Ahmed Choudhary, Former foreign secretary of Pakistan, has expressed serious concern over CPEC’s momentum, The Singapore Post cited Dawn report. According to him, the key point is whether CPEC can regain the momentum it had managed to gain in the first few years after its launch in 2015. In the joint statement after Shehbaz Sharif’s visit to China, the two nations reaffirmed an “all-weather strategic cooperative partnership.” China and Pakistan also agreed to “continue the momentum of CPEC’s high-quality development.” But experts believe that this is just an eyewash as Pakistan is not in a position to go ahead with the project.
Citing Aizaz Ahmed Choudhary’s statement, the report said that there is doubt on why there was no announcement to start any new projects, including the multibillion-dollar ML-1 railway line project. In the joint statement, the leaders “appreciated” the project and called for its earliest implementation.
People in Balochistan have expressed opposition to CPEC-related projects. The local residents are angry with the Gwadar Port, and the lack of economic growth as well as job opportunities. Following Karachi’s attack on Chinese nationals in May, China is annoyed about the attacks on its projects and personnel.
As per The Singapore Post report, China is not confident about the security assurances despite Pakistan deploying over 15,000 military personnel to protect the CPEC projects. The people of Pakistan are also not happy with CPEC due to the high cost of loans and the debt trap.
China should concentrate on Pakistanis position and help it to come out from economic and political instability rather than attempting to alter LAC position with India.
