Opinion | Schools of Future – Where Students Become Tech-Savvy!

The School is the place where a child is nourished, trained,learned, guided etc. He or she gets the right direction from the school. It is the foundation of knowledge being imparted to a child. The school can empower the child with opportunities to become successful in their life. The school is a place where holistic development is acquired. The schools of the future aim to provide a pragmatic type of education. It can rule out rote and traditional learning.
The schools of the future wouldn’t be the school of today. The future schools shall inculcate the techno savvy type of education. The virtual learning could replace mechanical systems, as it means an environment where students study a digital based curriculum taught by the instructor via online, video or audio. Online system of education has brought revolution. The importance of online or digital based education got much worse during the pandemic when students were away from the school. We have witnessed that students during the pandemic have completed most of their syllabus through online lectures by their teachers.
Learning online can save both energy and time. Looking a decade before we find a traditional type of learning in which the teachers and students were not equipped with technology, e-learning. But the type of teaching is a lecture based approach that refers to the method of instruction in which a teacher transmits knowledge to students through lectures, reading or other forms of representation.
The techno savvy type of education means being more proficient with modern technology especially with computers. Today students have been learning through modern gadgets, like Ites, Icts and many online platforms. The pedagogy of teaching has been immensely changed from the last few decades. Gone are the days when students were learning passively, now the system has been drastically changed. In the present day teaching methods have been integrated into physical and virtual classrooms. Online education is a new form of education where students study from their homes with the help of computers and the internet. This fact was mostly seen at the time of COVID-19 when we were not able to move freely upto school and other areas. Students can not go to schools, colleges, tuition centres. Online education has played a crucial role in everybody’s lives.
The schools of the future where manual systems of teaching and learning hardly exist like black board, chalk system, passive type of learning etc. In the present we have an online education, passport, submission of forms, exams, google maps, shopping etc which makes it convenient for every one to avail the benefits. People who don’t have time to study on campus either because they have full time jobs, families to take care of the non availability of transport, can take the benefit of going online. The benefits of online education is that it is user friendly, flexible, result driven and cheaper than on campus education. The online education gives the educators a prospect to reach students who may not be competent to enroll in traditional classroom courses.
The benefits of online education are endless. It has been considered a boon to the education sector. It has largely benefitted the students to learn efficiently. It is deemed as cheaper and students can learn and practice independently Without pressure. The techno savvy has been emerging as a significant way to achieve the desired goals. We have witnessed recently the successful stories of IAS and KAS officers cracking the coveted posts just by using technology and the internet. They have been utilizing the benefits of present day technology which was not present in the earlier days, where a brilliant student belonging to an economically weaker section can do nothing. In today’s time we have hardly seen a student reading books, magazines, newspapers etc to enhance their knowledge but seen sitting glued to the internet to avail the benefits which is considered the mobile library which is just a click away to learn a lot of information. So gradually the manual system is going to be obsolete in every field of life.
Online education is the new age that students are adopting gracefully and the benefits of online education in today’s world are endless. It has become a new trend nowadays. With the advent of this technology an individual can do private jobs in multinational companies through Work From Home which is only possible due to technological scenarios.
