After long time Pakistani army has been exposed in their own country. The situation faced by the Pakistani army is worst and humiliating for such a noble profession. As such army is being considered as the noble profession and countrymen respected army personals without any second thought, but in Pakistan, the name army has been ashamed. Historically, role of the Pakistani army in regions like Pakistan-occupied Kashmir (PoK) and Baluchistan has been contentious, marked by interventions in civil matters, violations of human rights, and the imposition of military rule. In PoK, the Pakistani army has exerted significant influence, both politically and militarily. The region, which is administered by Pakistan but claimed by India, has been subject to alleged human rights abuses by the Pakistani military. Reports suggest that the army has suppressed dissent and freedom of expression, leading to a sense of oppression among the local population.
Similarly, in Baluchistan, the Pakistani military has been accused of widespread human rights violations. The region has witnessed a long-standing insurgency, partly fuelled by grievances against the central government’s policies and the military’s heavy-handed approach. Reports of enforced disappearances, extrajudicial killings, and crackdowns on dissent have raised international concerns about the situation in Baluchistan.
The Pakistani army’s intervention in civil matters has also been a source of controversy. Throughout Pakistan’s history, the military has repeatedly intervened in politics, often through coups or behind-the-scenes manipulation. This has resulted in periods of military rule, characterized by curtailed civil liberties, media censorship, and political repression.
These violations of democratic norms and human rights have led to widespread resentment among civilians towards the Pakistani army. The military’s actions have eroded trust in state institutions and fuelled demands for greater civilian control and accountability. Despite efforts to strengthen civilian governance in recent years, the military continues to wield significant influence in Pakistan’s political landscape, posing challenges to the country’s democratic aspirations and stability.
The Pakistani Army has been implicated in numerous human rights violations within Pakistan, leading to a tarnished reputation both domestically and internationally. The military’s involvement in politics, its history of military coups, and its heavy-handed approach to governance have contributed to its negative image.
In Pakistan, the military has often intervened in civil matters, disrupting civilian governments and imposing martial law. This interference has led to periods of authoritarian rule, marked by curtailed freedoms, censorship, and repression of political opposition. Human rights abuses, including extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, and torture, have been reported under military regimes, further exacerbating tensions between the army and civilians.
In India, particularly in Kashmir, the Pakistani Army’s actions and rhetoric have often been viewed with suspicion and concern. While some Kashmiris sympathize with Pakistan’s stance on the Kashmir issue, others reject its interference and see it as exacerbating tensions in the region.
Overall, the Pakistani Army’s reputation is marred by allegations of human rights violations, political interference, and authoritarianism. Its actions in Kashmir and within Pakistan itself have contributed to a complex and contentious relationship with both domestic and international stakeholders.
Politically, the Pakistani Army has a long history of intervening in civilian governments through coups or behind-the-scenes manipulation. This has led to periods of authoritarian rule, characterized by limited civil liberties, media censorship, and repression of political opposition. The military’s dominance in political affairs has hindered the development of stable democratic institutions and perpetuated a cycle of political instability.
Socially, the Pakistani Army’s actions have had profound impacts on society. Reports of human rights abuses, including extrajudicial killings, enforced disappearances, and torture, have raised concerns about the military’s respect for basic human rights and rule of law. These abuses have fueled resentment and distrust among civilians, contributing to social unrest and discord.
Additionally, the Pakistani Army’s alleged support for terrorist groups has had far-reaching consequences. Despite international pressure to crack down on terrorism, Pakistan has been accused of providing safe havens and support to various militant organizations. This support has not only destabilized the region but also tarnished Pakistan’s reputation as a responsible member of the international community.
The recent events involving the Pakistani Army’s intervention in various aspects of governance and society serve as a cautionary tale for the common Kashmiri people in India. Witnessing the Pakistani Army’s manipulation of political affairs, its disregard for democratic principles, and its alleged support for terrorism within Pakistan itself, Kashmiris may now view the Pakistani Army with skepticism and apprehension.
The lesson for the common Kashmiri people is clear: blindly placing faith in military intervention or external support can lead to further instability, loss of freedoms, and increased violence. Instead, Kashmiris may now recognize the importance of nurturing democratic institutions, advocating for peaceful environment, and prioritizing the well-being of their communities above all else.
