A civic sense awareness cum workshop was organised by Kashmir Writers’ Association at River View Conference Hall, Anantnag. The event was aimed at creating awareness about civic responsibility among the masses in which members and volunteers of the organisation took part. The participants were provided training in order to run awareness campaigns through social media platforms to enable public at large to understand the importance of civil sense, On the occasion head the Organisation Fida Firdous and, core member Tahir Majeed, delivered the lectures on the subject. District head of the KWA Mariya Noor was felicitated for her endless service towards the society. Resource Person Munaza Jan spoke on the topic saying that there is need to raise awareness in our society like regarding respect for the law, maintaining etiquette while dealing and interacting with others. She said that only through our responsible behaviour and awareness can we achieve collective well-being. By instilling these values early in life, our schools will play a crucial role in grooming responsible citizens who contribute positively to their communities and the nation.
Irshad Ahmad, an academician and social activist also delivered lecture on the subject and said that conscience citizens need to create civic consciousness among children aimed to sensitise them on issues related to waste dumping, saving water, keeping footh-paths and road clean of rubbish among other things. Irshad highlighted the importance of Education in developing civic sense should also include nurturing ethical values and social responsibility. Honesty, integrity, empathy, and respect for diversity, thus encouraging inclusivity and tolerance in schools, will lay the foundation for a harmonious society where individuals coexist peacefully. Mohammad Muslim Bhat, student & member of the organisation acted as anchor of the event and paid vote of thanks also.
