Sopore : In a commendable initiative aimed at fostering environmental awareness and education among young students, the Special Range Sopore of the Kamraj Forest Division Kupwara, under the aegis of the J&K Forest Department, organized ‘Inspire a Child’ event at Government Middle School Mazbug in the lead up to World Environment Day 2024.
The event saw enthusiastic participation from the students, who were engaged in a series of activities designed to educate and inspire them about the importance of forest conservation and environmental stewardship. One of the highlights of the event was a tree-planting ceremony, where students, guided by the forest officials, planted saplings within the school premises. This activity not only underscored the importance of trees in maintaining ecological balance but also provided the students with hands-on experience in contributing to their environment.
Speaking on the occasion, Range Officer Special Range emphasized the critical role that young minds play in shaping a sustainable future. He encouraged the students to take active roles in environmental conservation, highlighting that their involvement is crucial for the long-term health of the planet.
