The event was held as a tribute to Sardar Patel’s pivotal role in unifying the country post-Independence and his enduring legacy as a symbol of national integration.
The “Run for Unity” also served as a platform to encourage community engagement, particularly among the youth, in promoting the ideals of unity, discipline, and social harmony.

The run saw active participation from hundreds of students, teachers, civil society members, and local stakeholders, who gathered with enthusiasm and patriotic fervor.
Various schools and colleges across Srinagar collaborated with the Police for this initiative, underlining the importance of educational institutions in fostering values of citizenship and unity among young minds.

Participants ran predetermined routes in their local areas, carrying banners, placards, and flags, creating an atmosphere charged with energy and national pride. Police officials, teachers, and community leaders flagged off the runs and interacted with participants throughout the event.

To recognize the effort and involvement of the participants, Srinagar Police distributed certificates of participation and provided refreshments. This gesture was met with appreciation and further strengthened the bond between law enforcement and the community.

The event is part of a series of initiatives undertaken by Srinagar Police to promote civic responsibility, build trust with the community, and create awareness around key national figures and their contributions.
The success of the event reflects the growing spirit of collaboration between law enforcement and the citizens in fostering peace, progress, and unity.

With vibrant participation and a strong message of togetherness, the “Run for Unity” stood as a fitting homage to one of India’s greatest leaders and a reaffirmation of the values that continue to bind the nation together.
